There’s a story that I’d love to share with you because it’s going to really inspire you. It’s one of those stories where hard work and taking the path less traveled leads to success. Consider it your daily dose of inspiration.

I hope this motivates you to chase those dreams that have been sitting on the shelf, yearning to be dusted off.

This is the story of one of my most memorable student successes, Jeremiah.

When I first met Jeremiah, he was just a 17-year-old teenager. Just a kid! But he was ambitious and eager to get into business, although he wasn’t really sure where to start or what the heck he wanted to sell.

I asked Jeremiah what he loved doing and he told me he absolutely loved running, fitness, and music. He loved the escape and endorphins he experienced when going on a challenging run. He loved moving.

Afterwards, we ran through a few exploration exercises and the answer became clear.

Jeremiah was set on what he wanted to sell, since he was a running enthusiast it made sense for him to begin selling running gear on Amazon.

He wasn’t sure how it was going to go and to be honest his expectations weren’t super high.

At 17, you’re hoping to just pocket a few extra hundred bucks a month.

What happened next is pretty incredible. It’s also the perfect example of what happens when purpose and passion intersect to create profit organically.

Jeremiah was super committed to doing his best when it came to his business on Amazon. He took it seriously. He was diligent when it came to listening to his customers. He did everything in his power to understand and anticipate their needs. If one of his customers had a question about one of his products, he took the time to provide the most thorough answer possible and went above and beyond the call of duty. He gave every customer a stellar customer experience.  

He also understood the importance of getting positive product reviews early on. He kindly emailed customers and requested they leave a review after trying out their purchase.

Pretty soon, Jeremiah was selling cell phone holders to runners every day. His products were practically flying off the shelves.

Before he knew it, the sales started to snowball into an avalanche of profit. The reviews kept pouring in and that lead to more and more sales.

Due to the month over month growth, Jeremiah was able to add more products to his Amazon store and expand his offerings. His customers were looking for more cool running gear and Jeremiah delivered.

The growth continued for the next few years, after years of hits and misses, trial and error, and a strong mentor to guide him, Jeremiah built a multi-million dollar business using just Amazon.

Did I mention that Jeremiah wasn’t even legally allowed to drink in the United States yet?

Yep. All this happened before the tender age of twenty one.

At 21-years-old, Jeremiah was able to sell his business to an investor for a whopping $4 million dollars.

$4 million is not a lot over the span of a lifetime.

However, if that money is invested wisely, then that amount could have you set for life.

I know Jeremiah personally, and I know he’s a smart man. He’s the kind of person who will create and grow a new company that is even grander than the first.

How do I know this?

I know this for three  reasons…

The first reason, Jeremiah has gone through the trials and errors of running a business on a small scale where the stakes were low. But, what he learned was invaluable and the fundamentals cross over into running and owning your own business and starting new businesses.

The second reason is, he has the entrepreneurial mindset and knows how to anticipate consumer needs as well as identify a gap in the market that needs to be filled. Success isn’t luck, it’s knowing when to strike.

Entrepreneurs are also okay with failing. Jeremiah made a lot of mistakes in the early days of his Amazon business but he always recovered swiftly and turned it into an opportunity to streamline his process and become more efficient.

And the third reason, and the most important, Jeremiah was able to achieve this level of success because he took consistent action and followed a proven blueprint.

This proven blueprint wasn’t always available to most people.

In fact, this blueprint was mostly hoarded, coveted, and kept from most people.

But, this is no longer the case.
