Mike Dillard has a winning team — a team that is prepared to build a business, scale it out, and turn a profit while doing so.

At Freedom Fast Lane Live 2016, Mike Dillard, the creator of a revolutionary in-home organic growing system that anyone can use, shared how he surrounded himself with "$100 million" talent on his board of directors.

During the question and answer session, we asked every member of the panel how are they involved, what do they see as a path to move the business forward, and what and how they will contribute to making their company a success. This podcast episode features that Q&A session.

One of the key takeaways from the discussion was that entrepreneurs need to give before they can get. Colloquially speaking, people need to give more of themselves, their talent, and their capital than the status quo in order to receive the benefit of something that they had a hand in creating. And, in Dillard's case, these men all had a hand in creating a multi-million dollar company.

In this same episode, the all stars on this Freedom Fast Lane Live panel also assured that entrepreneurs have to be able to resist the allure of the "ready, fire, aim" mentality. Or, the idea that addressing an issue head on could be a costly endeavor. Planning ahead and being prepared at what the market can dish out is one of the keys to long term success. Plus, understanding that you can't build a company around one product or service is important.

You have to bounce ideas off people, be ready to collaborate, and be able to adapt to your customers in a strategic, but timely manner.

The panel also elaborates on how to have a successful sales conversation in almost any sales scenario. You have to bring your sales and marketing messages from a focus on the consumer, not yourself or your company's values. Giving the people they want and understanding what they want is a winning strategy.
